Workshop on Roman Handicraft

From 22 to 23 July there will be a workshop at the boat building site in Gunzenhausen. The workshop takes place from 10 am to 5 pm. It will  deal with Roman crafts in general.

The workshop will focus on two main topics:

Our blacksmith will demonstrate different blacksmith techniques that will also be explained.

One of the highlights will be the two boat builders from Roskilde (Denmark). They have already been involved in the reconstruction of Viking ships and will explain ancient and pre-modern boatbuilding methods in individual steps during the event and discuss them with our craftsmen.

Depending on the corona regulations, visitors can practise these methods by themselves, or these methods will be demonstrated by the experts themselves.
